Thankful Thursday. . .

Written By Esthermay Bentley-Goossen on 16 October 2008

In light of yesterday’s post (Life vs. Punishment) and the overwhelming response via e-mail and comments, I am thankful for PRO-LIFE Family Values and every American who is absolutely unyielding on this issue!

I am thankful for the 26 year old “undecided voter” named Candy from Tampa Florida who was so stirred by Rowan’s story that she is now motivated to vote for the Pro-Life Candidate on November 4th.

I am thankful that every vote counts!

I am thankful that PastorMark and I made the decision to homeschool. It is the only way our children will have these Pro-Life values instilled as part of every academic subject.

I am so thankful for the freedom that homeschooling gives us to teach what we want our children to know – not what the public school system deems “essential” to their education.

I am thankful for the modicum of control (insert sweet smile here) I have over the use of crayons, safety scissors and glue stick!

I am thankful for the blessing of having these precious children and being entrusted with loving and teaching them.

If you have 1 minute, 8 seconds, see my full and [slightly] proud heart HERE.

And in the spirit of random thankfulness, I am thankful . . .

that Shepard asks for "lined paper" without lines because he doesn’t use the lines anyway.

that I have not felt compelled to either wear a denim jumper or raise goats in my backyard.

ANEW Clinical Expression Line Filler from AVON. (It’s a miracle!)

3" x 5" Index cards.

7 ½ watt light bulbs.

SiteMeter & Latitude/Longitude Finder Utility

Dear Husband who walked to the [only] gas station in SmallFarmTownMinnesota to get me this when I was the Guest Contributor at Christain Women Online last week. Is this man the greatest, or what?!

Hi Esthermay! I'm thankful for the number of pro-life values you saw exhibited yesterday as well. And I did visit your video of your little precious and I'm wondering can I please have her for an afternoon? She is a doll!

Thank you for the way you so honestly and boldly share your heart! You are a blessing.

AWESOME POST!

Oh how I am thankful for LIFE!

I look at our 5 adopted children and thank God their mothers chose life for them. I am thankful for many of the same things you are.

I am passionate about God's voice and heart for LIFE! I am praying for my unsaved family and my stepsister who has zero value on life and is voting against it Nov. 4. She can't imagine telling her children one day she voted against choice. Oh Lord, forgive her for what she did and what she does NOT know and the hardening of her heart from all of her sins.

Thanks for this post and your beautiful heart for homeschooling too! I love it and value everything that comes with it - knowing our values are what they are learning through His vision not the worlds!

In His amazin grace,
Jill
Blessed Mom of 7 soon to be 8!!!

Ok...hold it...although I have drawn a line at the denim jumper (Mr. Amazing prefers loose flowing prairie skirts--mostly I wear jeans for practicality's sake), I covet (bad, bad me...Thou shalt not, and all that) a couple of goats for the backyard to go with the 9 hens and 4 cats.

I'm adding to my thankful list you, my friend, for being so bold as to post the truth about Life and the Giver of it.

And Selah...she's scrumptious! I'll have to visit your homeschool again. My little Dynamo heard her talking and left his play to see the little girl. Of course, now he wants a chalk board.

I'm thankful for the freedom we so often take for granted living in the USA. We can vote and voice our opinions. And we can worship openly and freely.

Selah is a hoot!

We taught our kids "high5" when they were little and it is still one of those "family things" that gets us some strange looks.

Way to go on the homeschool choice. Public Schools need as much help as the rest of the godless culture. I would be scared to even walk through one today. And I guess you can't anymore without security clearance! Sad isn't it?

Thanks for your encouraging words today. My hubby and I have pastored several churches and it hasn't always been a joyful or easy journey. I praise God that He has always been with us when the storms have been very dark. He is always in control and bigger than anything this world can throw in our path.

Blessings to you!

Sara: Thanks. I did read this.

Obama's 100% voting record in favor of killing chidren is absolutely frightening!

The prospect of this man being allowed to appoint Supreme Court Justices is horrifying!

Oh what a thankful, beautiful heart you have. I can't tell you how much I appreciated reading this post!

Standing with you in absolute agreement that our Lord knits EVERY child in the womb and EVERY child is precious and deserving of life!

Blessings to you!

I went to pick my youngest son up last night after youth group and walked into a discussion in the church parking lot about the election. I was blown off my feet when the consensus of this group of people who call themselves Christians was that the economy was more important than issues of morality and character. WHAT!!!!!!!

Christians are more concerned about the price of gas and a 401K than they are 7 Million DEAD CHILDREN! Am I on another planet?

And I thought Code Pink was the last word on the decay of America. Of course Code Pink is all for killing babies too. They just want ALL Americans dead and killed on our own soil by the radicals.

I am depressed today. What is is with death and the left????

I laughed outloud at your comment...Scrapblog is STILL minimized on my screen too...SELF CONTROL...have to clean a bathroom that MY man was retiling all week long...:)

Now on a much more serious note...Your post yesterday carried into today for me and many others..and last night watching the debate...there is NO choice when a LIFE hangs in the balance...
CHOOSE LIFE!

peace Esthermay! You made mine!!

Candy sent me.

I'm voting too. And NOT for Obama. He's sick! Could never pinpoint why I didn't like him he's always got a cocky look. I'm convinced he's got anti-christian blood.

I'm going to link that Rowan story on my blog too.

I am pro-life, too. I'm tired of taking flack for being a one-issue voter. This issue is more important than my pocket book or any other issue.

Unfortunate, that in 2008, there is no pro-life candidate for President. All of them believe that some children are disposable (rape & incest). Truly sad...
