This SAHM is especially thankful today for (1) the privilege to teach my own children and completely circumvent the public school agenda, (2) Sonlight® Curriculum, (3) a supportive husband, and (4) God's grace and patience to accomplish each day's lessons!
. . .and to save on any further swollen-with-pride expression from this unashamedly proud homeschooling mom, go HERE to see how homeschool works for the Goossens.
The reality of motherhood is this:
The job is ETERNAL.
Whether or not our children can read or write by age 4 or 5 or six will be irrelevant in thirty years.
In 100 years, the reality of their presence in Heaven is all that will matter. [As for me and my house. . . ] We've decided that homeschool gives us better odds!
Children are a heritage from the LORD, children a reward from him.
~ Psalm 127:2

God bless you, and your dear children.
God Bless your efforts and all those who circumvent the public school agenda. AMEN. GREAT VIDEO!
Although I have no children of my own, I've taught children in Bible studies. They are like little sponges. I applaud you for focusing on what's really important to teach them. What will last for eternity!
I agree. I love Veritas Press stuff, check it out...
I am thankful for singing at the beginning of each school day with my son the song 'This is that day that the Lord has mad'.
I too feel like, by homeschooling, we are giving our boys better odds at staying true to the faith, no matter what the obstacle or cost.

We thank God for Sonlight curriculum here as well! Happy TT!
Beautiful post! May God bless you as you teach these little ones! Happy Thankful Thursday to you.
Great post and lots to be thankful for.
The toughest job in the world is teaching your children at home. It is a blessed one that, of course, God equips a mother for.
I ran and refused to pray about homeschooling for a long time. I couldn't outrun God and he broke through my stubbornness to confirm what I knew in my heart to be true: I was responsible for my children's education. We worked a blend of homeschooling, public, and private schooling throughout the 20 years our children were growing up.
What amazing adults they've turned into because I yielded to God's call and my husband supported me completely.
Regardless of schooling choices, it is always a parent's responsibility and great blessing to guide her child to know God.
I pray a shower of His blessings on you, your husband, and your children because of your faithfulness, Esthermay! You're one of my heroes of the faith!!!
Blessings to you! Thanks for visiting me this week. : ) I love reading your blog.
Hi There,
I came visiting from Barbs blog and I loved your comment about being a Pastor's wife. I too am a Pastor's wife and would love top get to know you more through your blog.
I scanned through and was especially touched by the post you did on true beauty.
May God continue to bless your ministry and broaden your boarders.
I will visit again soon.
Pamela
Thank you for a beautiful post. I'm a 1st time mom and pray my daughter too will grow up focused on Christ's eternal blessing!
God bless,
Heather
I admire you SO much for homeschooling your precious ones. I love how you put it: circumvent the public school agenda. Angenda? You bet! Thankful everyday for the opportunity to homeschool. Bless you and yours.

Beautiful.
LOVE those videos of your children!
You will need to share with us how you answer the socialization issue for non-homeschoolers. I HATE this question. I just get angry. Any one-liner suggestions to get people to think about what a dumb issue this is to win with a homeshcooler?
Oh those videos are adorABLE!
We don't have children yet, but I want to homeschool. We are saving so much money right now so I can stay home. It is the right sacrifice because you are so right about the 100 years from now.
A Great post. Again! LOVE YOUR BLOG!
After your children have grown and become parents of themselves, they will realize the sacrifice you made for them by choosing to homeschool. Even though it works well for you, life's pace seems to get faster and you are only one person -- yet you manage to pour into your children in a very special way. I'm sure our Heavenly Father is proud of you! One day, your children will rise up and call you blessed!
Great post!
You are a blessing.
Children are a blessing from the Lord! Thank you for sharing with us on this TT! I loved your comment on my post also, especially the part about what your husband says about how we can sit thru a vulgar movie for a couple hours but we can't give the preacher 20 minutes. I loved that and I am like you and don't understand this kind of thinking that some Christians have. May you be blessed for your dedication to your family! -Laurie
Eternal Job. I love that.
You are blessed to have the resources and spiritual strength to homeschool. Your reward is eternal as well. They will rise up and call you blessed!

P.S. Your comment on "Trisha" is priceless. Wisdom + Humor = Genius
also I tried your Republican redistribution cake: not bad. Glaze required. :-)
I truly believe that your children are fortunate that you've chosen to homeschool them and I believe they will be thankful to you for doing so when they are older.
So glad you are loving Sonlight! May this continue to be a fantastic year for you <smile>.
